I tried KDE last week, that was a big mistake: slowing my computer for beautiful effects. That's a negative point, I really prefer ubuntu in its mostly pure form

Ubuntu for sure is the best choice, I never had much of a taste towards Kubuntu either, Gnome is my favorite shell by far
